Hello, my name is Wiki Pan, the sales director at Zeropoint, a factory established by my parents. Allow me to share the captivating tale of Zeropoint.
In 2005, my parents laid the foundation for Zeropoint in the countryside near Ningbo. It commenced with a team of 3 workers, producing small towels for children. By 2010, it had transformed from a modest handicraft workshop into a formal industrial sewing factory, necessitating a relocation to our present-day facility.
Currently, we proudly employ 21 skilled sewing workers, with 8 of them having been part of our team since 2010.
I completed my university studies in 2012 and subsequently joined a prominent local international trading company. Over a span of 5 years, I held positions in purchasing and sales, serving numerous customers from around the world. These clients varied in size, ranging from large supermarket chains like ACTION to small daily necessities stores in Dominica, each with unique requirements. Throughout this period, I was captivated by the allure of international trade.
However, I gradually uncovered the drawbacks of working in a trading company. Such an environment often hindered specialization in a specific product category, making it challenging to conceive and develop new products. Moreover, trading companies typically stand removed from the front lines of product manufacturing, as several steps exist between product creation, production, and sales.
Recognizing this, in 2017, I assumed the role of sales director at Zeropoint, dedicating my efforts to sewn products. With the guidance of experienced colleagues and the support of our customers, my knowledge of sewn products has burgeoned in the past 5 years. I can now confidently proclaim myself an accomplished product manager in the sewn products industry.
However, operating as an industrial factory has proven far more demanding than I had initially anticipated, especially given the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the current global unrest. Nonetheless, we remain steadfast in our commitment to providing higher wages for our workers, recognizing that 21 families rely on us for support.
I firmly believe that our unwavering passion for sewn products, continuous skill enhancement, and innovative designs will enable us to deliver products that offer exceptional value to our customers.
This is the tale of Zeropoint—an ongoing narrative of a small factory’s growth, an ambitious company determined to expand, and the collective journey of myself and all the dedicated workers involved.
